The Twelfth 2022 at Greyabbey
For the first time since 1968, the crowds and the Orangemen returned to one particular part of the Ards Peninsula, as Greyabbey hosted The Twelfth.

Memorable day at Centennial Parade
It was a day not to be forgotten at Stormont on Saturday 28th May, as over 25000 orangemen, women and band members took to the streets of Belfast to mark 100 years of Northern Ireland.

The members of Newtownards District LOL No 4 were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Wor Bro David Cargo who died on 28th June 2017, aged 89.

The brethren of Newtownards District gathered in the last week of March to honour three of its most respected Past District Masters.

Memorabilia display
In the run-up to the Twelfth 2004, a series of events were organised within the Orange Hall to market the Twelfth festivities. One of these was a display of lodge memorabilia, much of which had laid out of sight for many years.

The lambeg tradition
The tradition of the Lambeg drums leading Lodges on parades has slowly diminished in the last fifty years. At one time drums would have accompanied seven of the fourteen Lodges in Newtownards District LOL No. 4.

Newtownards Apprentice Boys celebrate centenary
The Newtownards branch of the Apprentice Boys of Derry Club celebrated its centenary year in 2005.

Orange heroes of World War One
In the First World War a large number of Newtownards Orangemen volunteered to fight for King and Country. Over 240 Orangemen from the district joined up and over fifty paid the supreme sacrifice.

The Newtownards District choir
The annual Newtownards District Carol Service was initiated by the District Master, the late Wor. Bro. Billy McIlroy, following the District Gospel Mission which marked the Millennium year 2000.
